At Restaurant Wannee, we are committed to maintaining a strong relationship of trust and transparency with our guests. Above all, we want to clearly state that Restaurant Wannee is not in the business of trading data. We follow strict rules and regulations regarding why we collect personal data in the way we do, how we use this data, the limited circumstances under which we may share it with others, and how we keep it safe. Restaurant Wannee is part of the NHL Stenden Hospitality Group and in some cases makes use of shared databases.
The data we collect:
RESERVATION DATA
When you book a room through our website, you may be asked to provide your last name and email address. We need this information to validate your reservation. You also have the option to share additional notes that may be important (such as allergies or dietary requirements) to help us provide the best possible experience.
MAILING LISTS
If you choose to join our mailing lists, we collect statistical data such as how often emails are opened and how many clicks they generate. We use industry-standard methods to help us improve the content of our emails. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any of our emails or by sending an email to info@restaurantwannee.nl.
INTERNAL CATERING REQUEST DATA
When you submit an internal catering request, we ask for your name, arrival date and time, phone number, email address, and other relevant comments or preferences (such as allergies or dietary requirements) to ensure the best possible experience.

We have always taken measures to ensure that all stored personal data is secure, and we continue to do so. All companies we work with have implemented state-of-the-art security measures to prevent data breaches, unauthorized modifications, and other practices that violate the law. We maintain a register of what information is stored, where it is stored, and which employees have limited access to this data.

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary to perform the functions described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or legally obligated.

THE RIGHT TO BE INFORMED
You have the right to be informed about what data we store, how we store it, and for how long. This privacy policy, for example, is one of the ways we aim to clearly communicate our practices to you.
THE RIGHT OF ACCESS
If you would like to know what personal data we have collected or processed about you, you have the right to request a copy. You can do so by sending an email to info@restaurantwannee.nl. Naturally, we will ask you to verify your identity.
THE RIGHT TO RECTIFICATION AND ERASURE
You have the right to rectify or update data when the information is incorrect, incomplete, irrelevant, inaccurate, unlawfully stored, or if you believe the data has been retained longer than necessary. You also have the right to have your data removed from our system. This can be requested by sending an email to info@restaurantwannee.nl.
THE RIGHT TO DATA PORTABILITY
You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used format, in accordance with Article 20 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
THE RIGHT TO OBJECT
You have the legal right to object, based on your specific personal situation, to the processing of your personal data when it is based on the legal grounds of point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR (for example, when data is processed for a task carried out in the public interest or for purposes of legitimate interests pursued by us or a third party), including profiling based on those grounds [see clause 4 of the overview in this privacy policy]. We will cease processing the data if required by law under Article 21(1) of the GDPR.
In addition, you have the right to object to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes by either (i) using the opt-out function included at the bottom of our emails (such as a newsletter), or (ii) by sending an email to info@restaurantwannee.nl.
